The Oregon Telecommunications Association Scholarship Foundation was established to offer scholarships to employees and immediate families of OTA members to further education in colleges, universities and trade schools.
In addition, the Foundation is proud to offer the Diana Coleman Memorial Scholarship to honor a long-time board member, supporter and friend of the Foundation. This additional scholarship will be awarded from the overall applications submitted.
The OTA is now accepting applications for scholarships for the 2020-2021 scholastic year. The link below includes the cover memo, instructions and application. Please read through the instructions in their entirety as changes have been made from the previous year.
The application is a fillable pdf form that can be completed online, however upon completion it must then be printed, required signatures obtained where noted and supporting documentation included with submission. Please contact the OTA office should you have any questions about the process.
The deadline to submit an application HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JUNE 30, 2020.
As we move through the daily challenges we are all faced with in the wake of COVID-19, first and foremost, our thoughts are of each and everyone of you. Our hope is that you are all safe and healthy and that you are taking the necessary precautions to continue to be so. With the current closures of schools, we understand the difficulties of being able to complete the required documentation for the application process, specifically the letters of recommendation and grade transcripts. In light of this, we have decided to extend the scholarship application deadline to Tuesday – June 30, 2020.
Thank you to those of you who have already been able to submit your completed packets. Your applications will remain in the queue and will be reviewed by the OTA Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors after the June 30 deadline. The extended deadline will ensure enough time for review, selection and funds to be forwarded to the schools prior to the beginning of the 2020 Fall Term.
All applicants will be notified via mail in late July/early August as to whether or not they have been chosen to receive a scholarship.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the OTA office AT 503-581-7430.
